Our present life

We are currently living in Manteca, California away from the cold winters of Chicago. We moved to California almost 4 years ago and started this blog in an attempt to keep in touch with our family and friends in Chicago or elsewhere. We miss everyone from the midwest but we love those who have become part of our life in California. Kevin is a teacher at Ripon Christian High. He also coaches girls volleyball and soccer and stays busy playing the sports he loves as well. Janey is a nurse 2 days a week and a mom the rest. She works at DMC on the pediatrics floor. Mason (5) and Talen (2) are growing daily and loving life! Enjoy our blog and follow us if you like!

Easter break

Our Spring break was a blast! We got to spend it in Chicago this year with family and friends who we miss.  The boys traveled great this time.  Even Talen did a great job.  Kevin and I have learned a few things about traveling with little boys. 1.) Bring plenty of snacks - they will turn on you if they are hungry! 2.) Technology is your friend!. The more electronic devices - the better. DVD player, i-phone, i-pad all help a little boy sit a long time. 3.) Don't stress about the little things.  God has been teaching me lately not to worry or be anxious. When I worry, I am actually saying to God, "I don't trust you."  In everything I need to be thankful - even when the circumstances are challenging.  "Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." - I Thess 5:18.  This made for a great week!  We feel so blessed to have wonderful family on both sides.  And we always soak up the times we get to visit our family from Chicago.  Here are a few pictures of our trip:

Dyeing easter eggs and the easter egg hunt.  Thanks Kerry for organizing the egg hunt, so much fun!

Boys and their boys on the swings:)

The indoor waterpark - so much fun.

The zoo with great-grandma Tameling. Mason and aunt Kerry sat in the spash-zone at the dophin show and he loved it!

Rainy day activities

We've had a few rainy days over here the last couple weeks which is great for the crops, but not so great for energetic little boys.  So in an attempt to keep little hands busy, we did a couple crafts.  My craft box needs some restocking, but we did our best to make do with what we had.  The paper towel butterflies we did would have been cute, but we set them outside to dry and the wind blew them away:(
Here is Talen's caterpillar he made with his favorite craft item - fuzzy balls.

And Mason with his project - a one-eyed monster (his idea)
